DECORATIVE ARTS COLLECTION
The Decorative Arts Collection is open to the public since 1966 and consists of objects that were gathered from Marica Montessanto during the period of the Italian rule of Rhodes. The collection gives the visitors a rough idea of the atmosphere in the interior of the houses of the Dodecanese during the years of the Turkish rule (1522-1912), You will have the chance to admire traditional apparels, canvas works, woodcuts, metallic and ceramic objects. Of particular interest are specifically the traditional apparels women used to wear that came here from Simi, Astipalea, Karpathos, Nisiros, Telos, Chalki and of course Rhodes.
