MUSEUM OF GREEK MODERN ART
The Museum of Greek Modern Art maintains one of the most complete all-inclusive collections of Greek art of the 20th century, which consists of numerous paintings, sculptures, designs and valuable manuscripts of the most famous Greek artists, such as Maleas, Parthenis, Theophilos, Tsarouhis, Vouzianis, Hatzikiriakos, Gikas and Moralis. It was established in 1959 and offers the visitor a priceless overview of the real cultural identity of Greek Modern Art.
The Museum of Modern Art is located in the heart of the medieval town. on Sokratous street. Nestoridion Melathron is a meeting place for three different historical periods, with all of the facilities of a modern museum, such as a souvenir shop, a multimedia room, a library and some maintenance and renovation workshops.
